  9.     This is the read only version of CAIFS and can be freely copied provided all the !CAIFS files are included unaltered. If you like !CAIFSr/w (the read/write version) or use it frequently a registered version can be obtained for ú10. Registered users will receive future versions for free. The new registered version will contain the following:

  11.             1.) Multi tasking writing to files.
  12.             2.) Refined and improved LZW routines.
  13.             3.) Redirection of memory claims to sprites, fonts etc.
  14.             4.) Possible use of disc as virtual memory for claims.
  15.             5.) Hopefully (!) a new and substantialy better compression type.
  16.             6.) Machine code filer.

  18.     Version 1.44 is the last unregistered version to be available, later versions can ONLY be obtained by registering with me. The next version is likely to be available by Jan 95 (including all or at least most of the above features plus probably more). I am also pleased to take any comments, suggestions or bugs.

  20.     It is worth noting that if I produce a different compression type to the ones in version 1.44 then I will release a p.d. read only version capable of reading the new type.

  22.     You are also welcome to use the unregistered filing system or read only version as part or as accessory to any software you wish provided that it is left unaltered and I am credited for it. If you wish to use the unregistered module independantly then credit MUST be given to me for it's use. If you wish to use a registered version in any way then I must be contacted in order to come to some arrangement.
